Peripartum Mental Health – Assessment & Treatment
Peripartum mental health refers to emotional and psychological well-being during pregnancy and the first year
after childbirth. This period can bring profound hormonal, physical, and emotional changes that may impact
mood, stress tolerance, identity, relationships, and overall functioning.
Conditions such as prenatal depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma responses, and birth-related

Assessment
Our evaluation is compassionate, trauma-informed, and tailored to the peripartum experience. We assess emotional
changes, hormonal contributors, breastfeeding or sleep challenges, birth experiences, support systems, and
postpartum adjustment. Screening tools designed specifically for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)
may also be used.
